Representing the Principal of STIP Jakarta, Mr. Supardi Temu, MM as the Coordinator of Pangkal Balam DPM, conveyed the Community Empowerment Training (DPM). It was free for DPM Participants following existing requirements. It was a government program that has been implemented in previous years. STIP Jakarta, in collaboration with Harbourmaster of Pangkal Balam who later this program can improve the capabilities and skills of people in the maritime sector.

Two hundred forty local and surrounding fishermen attended participants of the DPM in Pangkal Balam, the Province of Bangka Belitung Islands. The implementation of education and training carried out from 16 March 2020 to 21 March 2020. They would receive BST-KLM (Basic Safet Training for Motorcycle Sailboat Training) and SKK 60 Miles.

The event was opened by Assistant 2 of Bangka Belitung Islands Province, Mr. Yanuar, MM. He expressed his gratitude to STIP for providing this free education and training to our coastal fishing communities in the Pangkal Balam and surrounding areas “I hope that the participants can take advantage of this opportunity to improve the abilities and skills of the fishermen themselves in the world of work” he said.
